Introduction to Together

In the year 2025, experimental horror films have seen an increase, but no one has created more daring horror chemistry than that of Together. Directed by the newcomer Michael Shanks, it is both unstable and deeply emotional. What makes it even more compelling is its main pair-the world-life married couple Alison Brei and Dave Franco-who bring raw chemistry and vulnerability for their on-screen relationships.

Together is an intestinal firm and the gooey lineage that means to lose themselves in love-the ornaments emotionally and, literally, physically.

Review: ‘Together’ – When Love and Horror Literally Merge

“Together,” the 2025 horror-romance from Australian filmmaker Michael Shanks, boldly explores the terrifying side of long-term relationships. Starring real-life couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco, the film asks: what happens when two people in a relationship become so entangled, emotionally and physically, that they lose all sense of individuality?

This body-horror tale dives deep into codependency—where shared wardrobes and mirrored behavior take on a grotesquely literal meaning. Think Bridget Jones’s smug marrieds, but with body horror, and the Spice Girls’ “2 Become 1” transformed into a creepy, oozing nightmare..

The Celebrity Couple : Behind the Madness of Together

Real life celebrity couple Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist, Now You See Me) and Alison Brie (Community, GLOW), have been wed for more than ten years. In Together, they play a couple on the verge of psychological and physical fusion, taking a dark turn from their well-known charm and comedic timing.

Their innate chemistry gives a movie that examines love as a stifling—and sometimes binding—force an uncanny authenticity. It’s a daring reversal of roles and possibly their most audacious partnership to date.

The Plot: From Country Living to Creeping Terror

The story begins with the couple get ready to move from New York City to a remote countryside, where Millie has accepted a teaching job. At their farewell party, Tim sheepishly changes clothes upon realizing he’s dressed too similarly to Millie. Their friends seem skeptical of the move, and the couple’s intimacy is clearly strained.

Strange things begin to happens shortly after their relocation to the country side. Tim gets haunted visions of his parents’ death, the house has a strange stench, and the countryside feels eerie. But the horror truly kicks in when a casual hike ends with the couple falling into a cavern. By morning, they discover their legs are fused together.

The horror escalates with increasingly grotesque visuals, turning their bond into something physical, parasitic, and nearly unbreakable..
